Pastoral
At Brighton Hill Community School, we are exceptionally proud of the pastoral care we provide for our students. Our four cornerstones, Commitment, Collaboration, Courage and Kindness, are at the heart of our pastoral system. We want our students to thrive at school and form positive relationships with staff as well as their peers. We are also committed to working closely with parents and all key stakeholders to ensure our students are well-supported, and that success truly is inevitable.
Students are placed in tutor groups and, where possible, remain with their tutor throughout their entire school career, although this is dependent on a number of factors. Within their tutor sessions, students engage in the MyWorld curriculum, have additional numeracy and literacy sessions, take part in a tutor sports programme and engage in year group activities and assemblies.
Each year the team of tutors is led by a Head of Year and an Assistant Head of Year with the support of a Pastoral Support Worker.
